Notes of fresh pear, waxy citrus rind, white flowers, toasted almonds and crushed chalk preface the 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a full-bodied, tensile and structured wine that's racy, phenolic and youthfully introverted, concluding with a mineral finish. Once again, this is built for the cellar and will be well worth seeking out.
Glowing lemon with a bit of lime. As always this is tasted after Montrachet and it holds up. Great tension, wonderful fresh yellow fruit with the mineral content, obviously sunny but properly balanced. The Jadot team do a good job with this vineyard in the Pougets sector of the hillside. Tasted: November 2019
Savoury and nutty on the nose, with layer up layer of sweet and savoury spice. This follows on the palate, and this spicy, smoky character is enhanced by the oily, rich and unctuous nature of the wine. Dense and full bodied, this is rich and requires a couple of years to settle and release its fruit.
