Vosne Romanée, Domaine Jean Grivot 2015

Tasting Notes

Earthy, feral aromas give way to ripe dark berry elements, with flavors of black cherry, black currant and violet. Supple and harmonious, this remains fresh and long on the detailed aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2035.

This also displays some reduction but not so much as to completely mask the spice elements. There is a wonderfully silky mouth feel to the nicely concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess lovely richness and persistence on the mildly warm and firm finish. Drink starting 2023

Transparent crimson – much paler than this domaine's wines have been in the past. There's an earthiness about this nose, as well as a comfort factor – familiar slippers? Sweet start and good energy. This is a wine that really seems anxious to please. Fair charge of acid and tannin on the finish. Certainly not cheap but it does the biz. Drink between 2020-2030
