(opened from personal storage). A ripe and still reasonably fresh nose of spicy black pinot fruit leads to rich, supple, seductively textured and generous medium-bodied flavors. There is plenty of dry extract that does a good job of buffer the firm but fine tannins that shape the delicious, mouth coating and mineral suffused finish. This is not exactly vibrant but there is sufficient energy that it avoids any sense of heaviness. While this could already be enjoyed I would advise holding for at least a few more years so that additional complexity can develop.
