The 1989 Riesling Clos Ste Hune Vendanges Tardives is the only VT that has been produced under this name "because it just happened,“ says Jean Trimbach, adding that no other, dry clos was produced that year. The golden-yellow colored wine shows a precise and concentrated nose of ripe mirabelles. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich, very generous yet precise and elegant wine with great expression, mineral tension and fine tannins. It is an impressive, ageless, gorgeously refined and elegant Clos Sainte Hune with an extraordinarily long and aromatic finish. This has 14% stated alcohol with no more than 17.5 grams per liter of residual sugar and 6.4 grams per liter of total acidity.
