The first commercial release of this prestige cuvee from Invenciel in the Casais do Douro. The creation is the brainchild of a partnership between South African winemaker Marc Kent (Boekenhoutskloof) and Portuguese winemaker Rita Marques.
Grapes sourced from old, terraced vineyards with classic port varietals: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional & Tinta Roriz have produced a wine deep in colour, with a smoky, spicy, gamey aroma, packed with appealing black fruits and perfume of tapenade and garrigue. The palate is intense but soft, forward, silky and very plush. This is no rustic blockbuster but sophisticated and approachable. Concentrated and yet light on its feet with polish, poise and purity. An impressive debut which can be enjoyed now but with the gravitas to age well too.
