The 2008 Ghemme Collis Carellae is a real stunner. Rose petal, mint, violets, sweet red cherries and licorice are some of the many notes that blossom in a firm, classically built wine that will make lovers of traditionally made Nebbiolos weak at the knees. Vibrant, translucent and deeply expressive, the 2008 is simply magnificent from the very first taste. I imagine the 2008 will reward readers with another 15-20 years of exceptional drinking. What a pleasure it is to taste the 2008 today.
