Volnay Caillerets, Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure 2021

Tasting Notes

The 2021 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru contains around 15% whole bunches this year. It has a lovely bouquet with black cherries, wild strawberries, undergrowth and subtle graphite scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins. The 2021 is fresh and taut with a sappy, firm finish that suggests a couple of years in bottle will do it fine. This is quite "punchy" in style.

From the 1960s, an early site. An attractive fresh purple, more succulent in bouquet than l’Exception. Plenty of tension here, with good acidity behind the fresh raspberry fruit, medium weight while the fruit stays on the palate to a good long finish. Drink from 2027-2033.
