This 20 hectare vineyard is well situated in the heart of Saint Emilion and is planted with 80% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Beau-Sejour Becot sails out of the glass with pronounced black cherries, kirsch, baked plums and boysenberries scents plus nuances of bay leaves, star anise and pencil shavings with a waft of roses. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers bags of juicy black fruits with a firm backbone of rounded tannins and bold freshness, finishing with great length and purity. 2024 - 2053
The first vintage for Juliette Bécot and Julien Barthe saw the change of consultant away from Michel Roland (and, in time, to Thomas Duclos). With this change they added wholebunch fermentation for the first time, and reduced the percentage of new oak used. As a result this wine is fragrant with summer pudding and salty fresh cherries. The palate is deftly judged, with bright red and black fruits, green peppercorn, salt and wood spice. There is a bright acidity but it is measured, not overpowering the fruit. A fine effort for the vintage, it is drink well already, and is a very promising start to the new management here.
Some handy depth to the nose here with quality fruit that’s evenly ripened. Rich aromas of mulberries lead to similar flavors on the very smooth, juicy and supple palate with plenty of fine tannins. Drink or hold.
