**Note: from a leased .29 ha parcel in En Orveaux where Mortet receives half of the production**
A perfumed and extremely pretty nose features notes of spiced plum, violet, rose petal, exotic tea and moderate wood influence. The gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality on the succulent but punchy and powerful finish that flashes a touch of youthful austerity. This too is mostly impressive and is a wine that is also built for extended cellaring yet it's not so structured that it couldn't be approached after 7 to 8 years or so.
The colour has the purple intensity of all the Mortet wines. While starting out with rather an elegant nose, there are riper notes behind, an attractive sweetness of fruit, teetering on the edge of maximum ripeness while retaining all its Echezeaux character.
