Nuits St Georges Les Cailles, Domaine Robert Chevillon 2019

Tasting Notes

A much spicier nose is cooler and more elegant with its beautifully pure and layered mix of both red and blue pinot fruit compote along with perfumed floral nuances. The vibrant and delineated medium-bodied flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel while displaying abundant mineral influence on the rich, sappy and focused finale that just goes on and on. This is a knockout and should age and improve effortlessly for the better part of two decades. (Drink starting 2036)

The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles was one of the more reserved wines in the range when I visited, unwinding in the glass with notes of plums, rose petals, sweet berries, orange rind and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with terrific depth and concentration, beautifully refined tannins and lively acids, it's very promising.
