Hermitage Rouge, Domaine du Colombier Hermitage 2010

Tasting Notes

The prodigious 2010 Hermitage reveals classic flowery notes (violets) intermixed with creme de cassis, pen ink, scorched earth and a touch of subtle wood spice in the background. This full-bodied, tannic, muscular blockbuster Hermitage should prove to be a classic, and age effortlessly for 25 or more years. Only patient connoisseurs are advised to take a look at this wine which demands 4-5 years of cellaring.

Dark crimson. Intense liquorice. Very chewy. But with real life. Not up there with the top Hermitages but a good ideal of the appellation's character.
