Initially the nose is knocked down by noticeable reduction and requires 20 minutes or so of relatively aggressive aeration to dissipate it. When the funk finally lifts there are attractive spice elements present on the mix of purple fruit and black currant aromas. The medium weight flavors possess reasonably good vibrancy if not particularly good concentration but there isn't much in the way of complexity on the otherwise moderately persistent finish. I found this to be exceptionally disappointing for what is one of the greatest terroirs in all of Burgundy. To be fair, it is not a poor wine as properly defined but it is a poor Musigny.
