Clear pale lemon, the nose has more reduction at this stage than the others, out from under which emerges the aroma of ripe pears. All quite backward and quite complex. What an explosion of fruit follows up, rich white pears without over-ripeness, this is on a grander scale than Charmes for sure, and a little riper in its profile. Breath-taking.
The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is one of the more introverted wines in the range, unwinding to exhibit notes of lime zest, crisp Anjou pear, exotic fruits, white flowers and spices. Medium to full-bodied, chalky and saline, it may take on additional dimension with further élevage, but for now I'd rank this behind Charmes and Genevrières this year.
