Barbaresco Albesani, Massolino 2019

Tasting Notes

The 2019 Barbaresco Albesani captures all the breadth and resonance that is such a signature of this famous hillside site in Neive. Red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal, lavender, menthol and licorice build with a bit of time in the glass. Bright acids and lively tannins add energy to this super-classic, inviting Barbaresco from Massolino. The 2019 is a dream, not to mention a superb debut. 2027-2039

Massolino has added a few terrific new Barbarescos to its lineup. The 2019 Barbaresco Albesani is one of these. With fruit from a 0.6-hectare growing site at a warm 230 meters in elevation, the wine shows broad knitting and dark fruit nuances of blackcurrant and cherry. There is spice, toast and mineral at the back. This is a 4,000-bottle production. 2023-2038
