Tasted at Château Grand Puy Lacoste. A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, picked 24th September and ending on 7th October. This has a slightly leafy nose, open-knit, quite smoky and just a little rustic. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins just a little hard at first, but fresh and unprepossessing. Tannic and masculine with a saline/savoury tang on the finish. Moderate length. Rather conservative at the moment. Tasted March 2010.
Sweet berry and coffee aromas with hints of Chinese tea. Medium bodied with lovely sweet fruit and a balance of fine tannins. Clean and pretty. Second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste.
Mid crimson. Fragrant. Fresh and easy and almost drinkable already! Good Pauillac savour. A little alcohol and acid on the end.
The second wine of Grand Puy Lacoste. Always good value. Not tasted by Farr Vintners yet.
The nose is dominated by black fruits with black cherry very much to the fore. The mid palate has the sweetness of ripe fruit and rounded tannins, the richness well balanced by some bilberry freshness. Drink 2018-2035.
