Anne Boisson’s 2022 Meursault “Sous la Velle” is made from a nice mix of old vines and those in their prime, as half the vineyard was planted in 1947 and 1952, with the other half in ’87 and ’90. The wine is aged in twenty-five percent new oak and the 2022 Sous la Velle offers up a lovely bouquet of apple, tart orange, hazelnut, chalky soil tones, a touch of beeswax, geranium and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with lovely depth of fruit at the core, fine mineral drive and grip, a lovely spine of acidity and a long, impeccably balanced and complex finish. Fine juice. 2025-2050.
