Medium deep purple, quite sombre as Clos de la Roche can be in youth, with some blue fruit notes rather than anything overtly flamboyant. This vineyard is not supposed to be seductive up front, but this example does have the requisite density behind, with some really classy perfumed fruit emerging at the back after fine boned tannins.
