Meursault Perrieres, Henri Germain 2022

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru comes from 0.16ha of vine. The nose is unmistakably from this noble vineyard, suffused with crushed stone and petrichor aromas. Very focused and complex. The palate is elegant on the entry, subtle at first, building in terms of depth with a surfeit of salinity on the finish that leaves the mouth tingling. Long-term Meursault for serious Meursault-lovers. (Drink between 2027-2052)

Neither racked nor sulphured. A glowing mid lemon colour. The bouquet has plenty of character, will need refining at the racking. Already really beautiful on the palate with a beautifully broad fresh pear fruit, just the right acidity, fully integrated oak, and a fine long finish. As this gains tension during the second winter, its pedigree will be fully confirmed. Nibbling at a fifth star…
