Mazy Chambertin, Domaine Armand Rousseau 2021

Tasting Notes

A fuller purple with rather a reductive nose, but one can still see all the fruit. Indeed, there is something quite sensual coming up behind. A lean intensity across the palate, a touch of graphite, definitely some mineral energy, the Mazy-Chambertin works very well this year. Drink from 2027-2034.

Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, November 2021

An overtly sauvage-suffused nose enjoys additional breadth from the presence of plum, earth, spice and forest floor nuances. The sleek and beautifully detailed medium weight are also not quite as dense as those of the Cazetiers yet here too there is focused power and a taut muscularity on the even more complex, stony and persistent finale where a touch of austerity slowly emerges. Very promising. (Drink starting 2033)
