Pale lemon colour. Here the yield was a paltry 28 hl/ha for a balanced 13.5%. The nose has power but does not show the alcohol. Significant weight, a little bit of liquorice, I would not want it to be riper or more concentrated than this, but it works well with a long strong finish.
**Note: from white pinot noir, which is better known as Pinot Gouges; the vines were planted in 1947 - the annual production is between 2000 and 2500 bottles**
Here too there is enough post-bottling SO2 on the softly exotic white orchard fruit scented nose to warrant a quick aeration. The impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors are rich to the point of opulence though the supporting acidity is barely up to the task of maintaining the balance on the very dry if slightly warm finish. This too would best be consumed in its youth.
