The 2020 Mangot has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of cherries, wild berries, rose petals, blood orange and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's pure and vibrant, with a layered core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, mouthwateringly chalky finish. This is a brilliant wine that sells for a song and which surpasses many of its more well-known neighbors.
A firm and linear red with plum, bark, wet earth and mushroom aromas and flavors. Hazelnuts. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins that are integrated and together. Real St.-Emilion. From organically grown grapes. Drink after 2025.
The 2020 Mangot has quite a floral, well-defined bouquet with black plum, blackcurrant and light marine scents on the nose. There is just a very slight reduction. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly powdery tannins. The oak is nicely integrated with a cohesive finish that maybe just needs a little more tension. Otherwise, this will do nicely.
Composed of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2020 Mangot is scented of ripe black plums, blackberry preserves and black cherry compote, followed by hints of licorice, dark chocolate and cardamom, with a waft of wild mushrooms. The medium to full-bodied palate gives a great intensity of juicy black fruits with soft, rounded tannins and just enough freshness to support, finishing earthy.
