The 1964 has a rich iron note alongside sweet, seductive dried fruit. There is a savoury depth of nutmeg, incense and clove here and a rancio nuttiness that gives the wine an almost meaty quality. High acid cuts through silky sweetness on the palate, with an almost Madeira like lipsmacking freshness. Layers of roasted nuts, dried fruit and confit citrus come through in waves. Long, fine and tangy on the finish.
