The 2018 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a very marine-influenced bouquet with briary and touches of oyster shell. The palate is a joy with well defined red berry fruit, strawberry and cranberry, nicely structured with a touch of sour cherry on the finish. This was picked especially early and that was a good decision.
