Tasting Notes

Dense ruby/purple, with notes of underbrush, forest floor and autumnal vegetative elements along with some blackcurrant, sassafras and cola, this medium-bodied, chewy, full Pomerol is not terribly nuanced, but it is very good. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Drink 2015-2030.

Tasted blind. Dark ruby with a broad evolved rim. Classic mature Pomerol on the nose – some meatiness. Pretty precocious and just a little spindly, with the acidity to the fore. But not over-extracted! Perhaps too little ambition in this case? But it’s neat enough and has a neat, fairly persistent finish. 13%

A candidate for the finest wine produced at this chateau, Beauregard’s inky/ruby-colored 2005 offers up sumptuously rich aromas of graphite, smoke, black cherry jam, and cassis. With superb fruit, medium to full body, ripe tannin, and adequate acidity, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.

Quite a shaded rim. Meaty and dark chocolate on the nose. Racy and appetising though not desperately complex. Dry and sinewy on the finish.
