Beautifully contoured and immediately expressive, the Mastrojanni 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto brings together dark fruit, spice, minerality, Sangiovese sweetness and firm, well-shaped tannins. The wine is aromatic and accessible in its youth yet structured enough to reward additional aging, reflecting the site’s tendency toward openness and floral lift rather than sheer power. The vineyard measures 1.59 hectares at roughly 350 meters in elevation with southeastern exposures, planted on complex lacustrine soils composed of lignitic clays, sandstone, sand and conglomerates. 2027 - 2045
The beautiful 2021 Brunello Vigna Loreto offers aromas of violet, new leather, plum, dark spice and a balsamic whiff of eucalyptus. Boasting great intensity and structure, the palate delivers crushed raspberry, cherry compote, licorice and blood orange alongside a backbone of firm, close-grained tannins. It has a mentholated finish while fresh acidity keeps it nicely balanced. While it’s already tempting, this is in for the long haul. Drink 2029–2041.
Maturing mid ruby with narrow orange rim. Minerals leaping out of the glass and with an undertow of raspberry underneath. The nose becomes more and more perfumed the longer the wine sits in the glass. Focused, perfumed raspberry fruit with succulent acidity. Fluid, long and intense with long, gravely tannins on the finish. Drink 2028-2040.
