(Domaine Joseph Roty Marsannay Villages Red) This is so dark that it stains the glass. Ripe, if slightly less ripe, aromas include those of black raspberry and warm earth. The slightly more refined and detailed middleweight flavors possess very good mid-palate density while delivering solid length on the rustic and firm finale that is supported by bright acidity and a touch of austerity. This isn't exactly drying but there is a raspy aspect to the supporting tannins. (Drink starting 2027)
