Most wines from 2021 felt very young, a little closed and perhaps a little reductive too, like the 2021 Les Tosses. The wine has moderate ripeness and alcohol at 13.5% and has a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins. It's still young and undeveloped. 3,208 bottles produced. Drink 2023-2031.
Struck flint, black pepper, blueberries and forest fruit come together on a layered nose here - the removal of oak has tightened and freshened everything in the Tosses. A fine pithy grip frames the palate, which is squeaky clean, bursting with pure red and black fruits. Through the mid palate flecks of herbs and spices come through, but this is a remarkably deft Carignan. Long and intense, this is as finessed a wine you can drink from this variety in this region.
