The 2018 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Reignots is showing beautifully, blossoming in the glass with aromas of spices, wild berries, cherries, rose petals and smoked tea. Medium to full-bodied, succulent and layered, its powdery tannins and lively acids are concealed by an ample core of fragrant fruit. Felettig thinks that this is his best Reignots to date, and I am inclined to agree.
This is a rental agreement covering 0.10ha of 60 year old vines with a good yield, given 45% whole bunch vinification. Bright glowing purple with a rather backward bouquet. A sensational intensity before the vanilla oak slightly marks the finish. It will certainly digest this though. Very long finish indeed.
