Tasting Notes

Exotic and beautiful with ripe berries, burnt oranges and hints of coffee and Chinese tea. Full body, soft and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Drinkable but wait three or four years to see the magic.

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, February 2017

Bright ruby with a slight fade at the rim. Complex and enticing on the nose with notes of dried flowers, dried cherry, and hints of earthy tobacco. The palate is pure and intense - a red fruit core is layered with spice, smoke and savoury earthy notes that build through the mid-palate. The tannins are firm but ripe, supporting rather than dominating the fruit. Excellent purity and intensity with a long finish punctuated by hints of balsamic fruit and a touch of menthol. A superb offering with great Barolo typicity.
