There is a great combination of earthy, savoury notes and crisp cherry fruit on the nose. The palate is gentle and velvety in texture with ripe black cherries and integrated, soft tannins. This has power and depth of fruit but also fresh acidity which lifts the wine and keeps everything in perfect balance. Hard to resist now but will age comfortably for 10+ years.
Aromas of earth, mushrooms and dried fruits. This follows through to a medium to full body with soft and velvety tannins, ripe-fruit character and a walnut and light bitter-lemon finish. Very enjoyable already. Drink in 2018.
La Morra. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Spice and laurel on the nose with an undertow of cherry. Elegant, supple palate with shy cherry fruit. Burgundy style! Quite gorgeous, if a little shy. Plenty of powdery tannins followed by fragrant, shy fruit.
