The 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Tri des Hauts de Vignes is superb, offering up a classy bouquet of waxy lemon rind, beeswax and subtle smoky reduction. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and expansive—richer than the Mâcon-Pierreclos bottlings but just as incisive as the best of them—concluding with a long, lifted and mouthwateringly chalky finish. It's already a striking wine, but experience suggests it will be at its best with the better part of a decade's bottle age. Drink 2022-2040.
The nose is light fragrant with white flowers the palate rich with depth of flavour a ripe mix of tropical fruits and white peach. Racy and fresh at the back the finish has length flinty and citrusy. 2019-25
In contrast to the more forward and opulent "CC" cuvée, this is a very mineral wine that Jean-Marie believes will not be at its peak until ten years after the vintage. It is a blend from the two best vineyards "Les Croux" and "Les Petits Croux". It reminds him of the great wine made here in 1990. Total production 210 cases.
