Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges from Gouges has a rather funky nose with some volatile acidity marring the detail and delineation. The palate is fresh on the entry with chunky red berry fruit, cranberry and pomegranate, nicely structured towards the finish with commendable tension. With time in the glass, the aromatics improve and that volatile acidity seems to blow away and leave you with a quite delicious, very satisfying Les Saint-Georges. Tasted November 2016.
