Chablis Les Fourneaux 1er Cru, Billaud, Samuel 2021

Tasting Notes

Côte de Pre-Girots. Pale lemon colour, the bouquet is not quite so fine as Vaillons but has class nonetheless. Fresh crisp white fruit with just a few mirabelles showing alongside. A softer finish but still with some clean kimmeridgian touches to finish. Indeed, the finish as well as being long has the classical style of Chablis. Drink from 2024-2028.

Citrus and crushed stones on the nose. Lovely combination of mineral notes and lemon cream. Deeply fruited without any sense of weight. Perfect balance of body, fruit and freshness. Drinking window: 2025-2032.
