The 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of sweet plums, orange zest, petals and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and sensual, with an ample core of fruit animated by lively acids and framed by melting tannins, it concludes with a precise, saline finish.
The last plot before Chambertin. Aged in a mix of eggs and barrel. A fairly intense crimson purple, with a softer bouquet of a darker raspberry fruit, then something interestingly peppery alongside some full floral characters, and there is an impressive grip at the finish. A fine and very long aftertaste to complete. Drink from 2032-2040.
