The 1959 Rivesaltes, which will be released in late 2018/2019, has a pale amber hue. For me, this is missing a little penetration on the nose, with rather airy scents of wet wood, orange rind and quince. The palate has a tang of bitter orange on the entry, lemongrass and black pepper following soon after. There is a slightly viscous texture offset by a subtle oxidative note on the finish. But it just feels a little short compared to some others that I have tasted, included its 1945 counterpart. 480 bottles produced. Tasted at Farr Vintners. 2018 - 2030
