The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is showing well, offering up aromas of citrus oil, crisp green orchard fruit, hazelnuts and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, round and charming, this is a soft, delicately fleshy wine that's extremely pleasant and pleasure-bent, but it can't match the cut or concentration of the last few years' renditions.
Rich hints of toasted brioche and pastry cream accent the flavors of baked quince and mandarin orange peel in this firm, focused Champagne, which ends with a lithe and lively finish. Drink now through 2020. 2,700 cases imported.
A very reductive, slightly stifled nose that needs air to open up to an array of assertive aromas of lemons and grilled almonds. The palate has a handy concentration of lemons and grapefruit with grilled peaches, too. Fleshy and expressive chardonnay here. Drink or hold.
Wonderfully fragrant - smells white and pure but there are delicate notes of yeasty autolysis and scented lemons and white peach. Perfect balance here, finesse and elegance and no lack of flavour intensity and length. Fine and persistent mousse. 2016 - 2020
