Vosne Romanée Les Beauxmonts, Domaine des Lambrays 2023

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru, which comes from the upper part of the climat, includes 40% whole bunch. It has a beautifully pure bouquet with dark cherries, blueberries and violet scents—quintessentially Vosne-Romanée. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is more complex than the 2022, with graphite and hints of marmalade toward the weighty finish. This is excellent and will meliorate in bottle. (Drink between 2026-2045)

From the upper slopes of Les Beaux Monts. Bright powerful ruby purple. A very lively red fruit, fresher than the various Moreys, filling the palate superbly, one of those 2023 wines which combines being light on its feet with having a fine tensile strength. The white pepper spices emerge towards the back and help to extend the delicious fresh red fruit. This has been brilliantly managed.
