This wine used to be called the "Acte" series. The grapes come from a site called Meyney, a deep limestone plateau in Fronsac. From the Guinaudeau family of Lafleur fame, the three hectare vineyard is planted to 51% Bouchet (Cabernet Franc) and 49% Merlot.
56% Merlot & 44% Bouchet, harvested on the 5th and 15th of September. Like Lafleur this will be labelled as "Vin de France" rather than Bordeaux. 14 months in barrel - 25% new oak.
The 2025 Les Perrières was picked between September 5 and 15. This has a vivid nose with blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and light rose petal scents. Fine delineation and you can really feel that limestone terroir. The palate is beautifully balanced, with almost a touch of orange rind underneath the layer of red berry fruit. Fine poise, with a touch of white pepper, moderate length and fine precision on the finish. Excellent. Drink 2031-2048.
A brilliant wine in 2025, the Perrieres is deep but fresh, with dark flowers and bright fruit making for a clever interplay of the sweet, savoury and ethereal. The palate is graphite-lined and chalky, with a narrow focus but high-toned intensity. Very refreshing and moreish, there is a lip-smacking intensity and stony mineral quality that keeps you coming back. Juicy, saline and cool, this is a tensile, long wine that should deliver after only a couple of years in bottle but equally age well in the cellar. Delicious.
The 2025 Vin de France Les Perrières is superb, revealing a fresh, gourmand bouquet of red berries that becomes more floral with aeration. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s tense, straight and crystalline, defined by pronounced limestone-driven acidity, concluding with a pure, precise and perfumed finish. It differs from Grand Village in its more immediate structural expression, with the chalky imprint evident throughout the palate. This is a blend of 56% Merlot (harvested September 5) and 44% Cabernet Franc (September 15).
Gorgeous fruit, blueberry and salt aromas with such intensity and brightness. Medium-bodied, lively and vivid. Tangy and bright, with a hint of limestone. 56% merlot and 44% cabernet franc.
Luscious dark cassis and bilberry fruits, pure perfume, peony and red rose petals, a standout in Pomerol, there is an enveloping and expansive mid palate with full on fennel and anis on close of play, so good, a wine full of emotion and grace. 75% new oak. Harvest September 4 to 12. Cooler fermentation than usual, not higher than 28C, because thick skins. 3.5ph. 4.5ha, so only 3 tanks compared to 5 normally, 30hll/ha. The 2025 Les Perrières is fruit-forward and supple with fine balance. I find it very young and not fully formed, with less of the body and mineral drive of most years. This finishes a bit short, with hints of blood orange and flowers that trail off quickly. I like the energy, but wish there was more substance. 2028 - 2040
