Discreet but not invisible wood influence frames the decidedly ripe yet reasonably fresh aromas of cassis and pungent earth. There is once again excellent density to the vibrant large-scaled flavors that also conclude in a powerful, robust and rustic finish where a hint of warmth gradually emerges. Just like the Bourgogne, this is impressive if somewhat particular in style.
Dense and rich, with generous blackberry and black cherry fruit flavors, this velvety red is a crowd-pleaser. Yet this also has a dark, brooding edge that infuses elements of iron, tobacco and beefy tannins. Spicy finish. Drink now through 2032.
