The relatively strong toast aromas that I noted from barrel are still here but clearly better integrated now than from cask. The oak highlights remarkably elegant, intense, rich and forward fruit that is decidedly less austere than usual combining with full-bodied, robust, well structured flavors that feature impressive depth and this finishes with imposing length. There is a touch of oak on the finish but the underlying material is so good that it shouldn't be an issue with a few more years of bottle age. In short, this is extremely impressive.
