Tasting Notes

A ripe and moderately elegant nose offers up notes of ripe and fresh dark pinot fruit, wet stone and relatively strong earth scents. There is the hallmark Chambolle refinement to the pure and equally ripe middle weight flavors that are supported by dense but fine tannins that contribute to the suave mouth feel, all wrapped in a persistent and dusty finish that offers very good if not truly exceptional depth.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (46), April 2012

(a blend of seven parcels, stretching from the north to the south end of the village): Good bright red-ruby. Musky blackberry, licorice, bitter chocolate and stony minerality on the nose. Dense, pliant and seamless, with a thickness to the dark berry flavors that's leavened by well-integrated acidity and a spicy component. Still rather tight and primary. This should age nicely.
