Tasting Notes

The resurgence of l'Arrosee that we've seen over the last four or five years is not apparent in the 2000. It has matured quickly, revealing an orange/rust color at its rim. Notes of earth, herbes de Provence, black cherries, red currants, and dusty, loamy soil undertones are present in this elegant, fully mature, medium-bodied 2000. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

James Suckling, Wine Spectator Weekly (23 Jan 03), January 2003

The deep ruby/purple-colored 2000 is revealing more of a mid-palate and depth than previously. Sweet vanilla and black cherry jam aromas are followed by a wine of outstanding purity, attractive texture, moderate tannin, and a distinctive, traditional St.-Emilion style. There are also hints of mint and underbrush in this medium-bodied, elegantly-wrought wine. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. Last tasted, 1/03.
