Tasting Notes

The 2024 Intrigue Pinot Noir is a blend of eight clones from the Isle vineyard, and the wine is picked and handled as individual parcels, then blended for the final wine. In the glass, the wine is reductive and exotic, with licorice, curry leaf, clove, sage and bay leaf as well. The wine is silky and pliable, and the length through the finish is impressive. This is a complex, layered wine, imbued with and shaped by fine tannins that linger through the long finish. While winemaker Jim Chatto describes this wine as a "show off," I would counter that by saying the wine is svelte and polished, although it has flashy attributes. It's an excellent wine. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink: 2026-2036

Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, March 2026

Layered, fruit-driven aromas of black cherries, red currants, rose petals, cloves, forest floor and flint. The medium-bodied palate has fine-grained, silky tannins and a precise line of acidity, showing wild red and black berries, bark, spices, graphite and crushed rocks. Balanced and expressive, made from all eight pinot-noir clones grown in the Chatto family vineyard. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
