The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a similar bouquet to the Les Perrières, but there is a little more clarity and precision here. The palate is more taut and backward by comparison, yet you can feel more concentration and grip toward the finish, which bodes well for the future. Keep it in the cellar for two to four years. (Drink between 2026-2045)
A little lemon in the colour, more refinement and precision to the nose, less immediate. Clearly much more weight on the palate, though you have to go in search for it. Apples, a little fresh apricot, then a broad continuation of pure white fruit. Enough flesh to cover the bone structure and very persistent. Drink from 2028-2037. Tasted Oct 2024.
