Chambolle Musigny Feusselottes, Mugneret-Gibourg 2022

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes reveals aromas of sweet cassis and raspberry fruit mingled with hints of rose petals and vine smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and suave palate that's layered, polished and seamless, concluding with a saline finish. This is an especially charming Feusselottes in the making.

Slightly cooler though not more restrained aromas include those of essence of red pinot fruit and plum plus a lovely array of floral elements, in particular lilac and rose petal. The super-sleek and vibrant middleweight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the utterly delicious if lightly austere finale that is shaped by fine-grained tannins. This too could use better depth, but more should reasonably develop.
