Vosne Romanee Suchots, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 2018

Dense purple black with a sternly concentrated nose. This is an imposing Suchots. Sweeter fruit up front, much more in reserve behind with more red fruit. This will require quite a bit more elevage but shows excellent promise. Lovely aromatics return just as you are about to start in on the next wine.

Unfurling to reveal aromas of dark berries, plums and spices mingled with rich soil tones and dark chocolate, Cathiard's 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with a generous core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, pure finish.
