Poggio alle Gazze, Tenuta dell'Ornellaia 2024

Tasting Notes

The 2024 Poggio alle Gazze is airy, bright and gracious. Lemon peel, sage, chalk, mint and white pepper open first, followed by brisk, salivating acids that are quite prominent. This is an especially austere vintage for Poggio alle Gazze. I would give it a bit of time in bottle.

The 2024 Poggio alle Gazze dell'Ornellaia, a blend of 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Vermentino, 3% Sémillon, and 2% Viognier, pours a bright silver/yellow hue with a subtle green tinge. The nose is fresh and expressive, offering notes of white flowers, guava, lime, peach, and fresh sage, with a restrained tropical character. Medium-bodied, it floats across the palate with elegance, showing vibrant acidity, saline lift, and a lively, energetic profile. A beautifully balanced white, it emphasizes freshness and precision. Drink 2026-2032.
