Tasting Notes

The Agnes uses components from the Ceres Plateau, the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and Shaw’s Mountain and is always one of the most consistent wines in the Crystallum range. Fermented in older oak with full malolactic, it’s a balanced, self-assured bottling with citrus, oatmeal and vanilla spice flavours and a zesty, tapering finish. 2026-31

Broader, more generous in its aromas than the Clay Shales – red apples, grapefruit, more stone fruit. An intimation of allspice and caramel character, too, woven well into the fruit. A palate layered with flavour and a satin texture, all underpinned by a real energy zipping through from start to finish. The balance is great. Simultaneously inviting and cerebral. 2026-2030.
