The 2024 Chardonnay is lean, saline and tightly coiled on the palate. The acidity and phenolics are both fine yet very firm, and this lingers beyond the flavors, which include white peach, Murraya, sage leaf (in its peppery, leafy way), underripe pear and dried flowers. On balance, I prefer this wine to the Crecy, for its sleek shape and sophisticated expression of Chardonnay. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
A discreet and complex bouquet of white peach, orange blossom and just a little struck match; another compelling Yarra Yering Chardonnay. The palate has real drive and energy, finishing pithy and long. A wine that will cellar effortlessly over the next six to eight years.
