Tasting Notes

A deft dollop of wood easily allows the spicy dark berry fruit aromas to shine. Like many of the wines in the range, the medium-bodied flavors are compact and powerful with fine mid-palate density and minerality where the latter adds a sense of lift to the dusty, serious and built-to-age finale. Patience again strongly advised. Drink 2034+

Tasted from a 600 litre barrel. Planted 1902. A beautiful ruby purple. The bouquet is exquisite with a perfumed deep red fruit to rival the best of the Côte de Nuits. Complete on so many levels, not just depth of fruit but the structure of the tannins and a little dark pepper too at the finish. Grand Vin. Drink from 2028-2036. Tasted Nov 2023. ***** 5 star wine.
